Internet security company Symantec has warned of new dangers of using Bluetooth handsets. It said last week that bluetooth device users can come under new types of attacks known as Bluejacking, BlueSnarfing and BlueBugging.
It said the most annoying type of risk to Bluetooth users is "bluejacking," which is also known as "bluespamming" in which the attackers send anonymous text messages to Bluetooth-enabled handsets.
Symantec said that although bluespamming is less annoying, it is a low-level security risk.
It also said that big threat lies in "bluesnarfing" that lets attackers to sneak into hapless users phones and scan through the data.
Symantec also said the biggest threat lies in "bluebugging" in which the hackers can remotely control a handset while making calls without permission. |
