Skype P-to-P Worm On Loose |

VoIP service provider Skype has warned its user that a worm targeting PCs with Windows software is on the loose and is spreading through the service's instant messenger.
While Skype calls the work as Ramex.a, Symantec calls it as Pykspa.d. Like previous attacks on Yahoo and Microsoft instant messaging, the worm takes a typical route.
The worm takes all contacts from the users Skype account and sends them a link to a URL which when linked infects users computers.
A Skype spokesperson said, "The chat message, of which there are several versions, is cleverly written and may appear to be a legitimate chat message, which may fool some users into clicking on the link." |
