Citrix Access Gateway Receives 2007 Stratecast Award from Frost & Sullivan

Application delivery infrastructure provider, Citrix Systems’ Citrx Access GatewayTM has been awarded the 2007 Stratecast Award for Innovation in SSL VPN Product Direction by Frost & Sullivan.

The Statecast Award is presented to a vendor who is at the forefront in integrating SSL VPN technologies into the newly emerging solutions for comprehensive application access, delivery and security.

Citrix Access Gateway is a key component of the overarching Citrix application delivery infrastructure, which allows IT to deliver applications to all users with the best performance, security and cost savings. The tool has the ability to securely deliver access to any application with robust endpoint analysis capabilities, while accelerating and optimizing VPN traffic to support up to 10,000 concurrent users per appliance.

“Based on its strategic vision and demonstrated execution abilities, Citrix has positioned itself as an SSL VPN market leader with Access Gateway by supporting the need for an integrated application delivery infrastructure that takes into account granular application access control, scalability and security,” said Michael Suby, program manager, Stratecast, a division of Frost and Sullivan.

According to Stratecast, SSL VPN market trends are evolving vendor solutions to include access control and universal application delivery, as well as network and intellectual property security. The interoperability of these technologies is critical so that the resulting product combination is materially better than the linear stacking of independently operated and managed appliances. The key product capabilities an integrated application access, delivery and security solution should possess are: network and application access control; mobility enablement; scalability and reliability; threat mitigation; information leakage prevention; and end-to-end application performance monitoring.

“The selection of Citrix as the winner of this award is a testament to the leadership and performance of the Access Gateway product line and its role as a crucial component for delivering secure application access,” said Phil Montgomery, director of product marketing, Citrix Systems.
