Germany based SAP AG, the world's largest maker of business-management software, said one of its team did make "inappropriate" downloads of Oracle Corp. documents, responding to a lawsuit that its competitor Oracle filed against SAP.
"We regret very much that this occurred," SAP chief executive Henning Kagermann said adding “even a single inappropriate download is unacceptable." SAP however has denied it had access to Oracle's intellectual property.
The acceptance of guilt hurts SAP as it battles with Oracle in the USD 56 billion global markets for business software. On March 22, Oracle filed its lawsuit claiming that one team from SAP hacked into a website and stole software codes.
SAP however has said it will "fully cooperate" with the US Department of Justice, which requested documents from the company and its Bryan, Texas-based TomorrowNow unit. |
