Trend Micro Extends Antivirus Scanning Contract with Microsoft

Microsoft Corp. has renewed its current agreement with Trend Micro for a forth year straight to provide real-time scanning and cleaning protection to some 280 million active Windows Live Hotmail and MSN Hotmail email accounts.

The 12 month agreement will see Trend Micro provide users of Windows Live Hotmail with scanning and detection services that provide automatic protection every time email attachments are sent and received, helping to ensure a security-enhanced Internet experience. Antivirus technology and services from Trend Micro help protect email messages and attachments in Windows Live Hotmail by scanning in real-time for viruses, Trojans, worms, and other malicious threats

“As Internet threats remain a top concern among consumers worldwide, Microsoft can rely on Trend Micro with our proven track record in delivering a scalable antivirus engine and rapid-response service to continue safeguarding e-mail for the hundreds of millions Windows Live Hotmail customers worldwide,” said Goh Chee Hoh, Managing Director Asia South, Trend Micro.
