After being rapped for interfering in users privacy, Google, has decided to defuse the tension over privacy with plans to let users decide how long the company can keep their personal data.
The Internet search giant fighting the European Union law over privacy issues and has agreed to cut the time it stores search data from two years to 18 months.
EU is concerned about Google's practice of keeping information on individual's searches. But it is thought that Google's offer to reduce the time it stores data will not be enough to placate the Article 29 Working Group that advises the EU on privacy issues. |
