Gemalto Positioned to Address Digital Security Market, IDC

IDC has released an independent vendor profile on Gemalto, a provider of digital security. Entitled 'Gemalto Moves Beyond Smart Cards in 2007', the report highlights the current digital revolution and how Gemalto is positioning to address new opportunities. IDC outlines how Gemalto is expanding beyond the smart card technology and deploying solutions for customers to ensure a safe and convenient user-experience. IDC has forecasted that the worldwide Identity and Access Management (IAM) market addressing enterprises and Internet content providers to expend from USD 3.4 billion in 2006 to more than USD 5 billion in 2010.

IDC asserts that smart cards are perceived as a preferred operational platform to develop IAM solutions. The market intelligence firm considers that smart card adoption will widely increase in the banking, government and healthcare national systems through 2008. “The creation of Gemalto is certainly positive for the growth and transition of the smart card market”, the report concludes.
