Secure Computing, an enterprise gateway security company, announced Tuesday of the opening of its new facility in Singapore.
This move is seen as a means to support Secure Computing’s growing customer demand across the region for the company’s line of network, messaging and web gateway security solutions as well as its identity and access management products.
“The consolidation of disparate security technologies in a cost effective and easy-to-use appliance is clearly the trend for all enterprises,” said Benjamin Low, Singapore country manager for Secure Computing.
“This, combined with an integral reputation system- which reduces malicious or unwanted network traffic by up to 80 per cent- has resulted in an upsurge in our business.”
“Singapore remains a very strategic market for us and this expansion illustrates our continued commitment,” said Robert Prigge, vice president of APJ, Secure Computing Asia Pacific.
Low also added that Secure Computing’s integrated TrustedSource reputation system identifies malicious sites and threats across a broad range of criteria and broadening their geographic reach is a natural evolution that tied into their continued product growth and acceleration.
Located in the heart of the city, the office will double up as a training ground for customers and business partners as well cater to product demonstration and product testing events.
“We will provide hands on classes for clients and end users and certify them once they complete the course so they can train others,” said Prigge.
This is the second of such initiatives; the first training facility was erected in Hong Kong in January of this year.
Secure Computing- which is headquartered in San Jose, California- currently has around 15 employees consisting of sales, marketing and system engineers in Southeast Asia . It plans to double the manpower by the end of 2007.
