Rob Forsyth, Managing Director for Sophos Asia, a provider of IT security and control, has been re-appointed to the Internet Industry Association (IIA) Board of Directors for the third consecutive year.
The IIA, Australia's national internet industry organisation, provides policy input to government and advocacy on a range of business and regulatory issues, promoting laws and initiatives which enhance the internet industry within Australia, the firm said in a statement.
Rob Forsyth joined Sophos Australia in 2001 and was appointed to the role of Managing Director for Sophos's Asia Pacific operations in January 2006. He remains based in Sydney.
Prior to joining Sophos, Forsyth spent five years with the Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (SOCOG) as workforce planning and industrial relations program manager, where he was in charge of, more than 180,000 paid, volunteer and contract positions.
"Rob's re-appointment to the IIA Board of Directors reinforces his position as a key member of Australia's internet industry," said Peter Coroneos, Chief Executive of the Internet Industry Association. "With a Federal election approaching, Rob's experience within the security sector will add considerable value to the Association’s thought leadership on key internet industry issues."
