Google has added a new service that will alert users before visiting websites that have been reported to StopBadware.org as sites that distribute badware. Google is providing the service in partnership with StopBadware.org, an organisation aimed at stopping the spread of malicious software, to flag sites that are potentially host to malicious software.
One such sites the Google and StopBadware.org have warned users is Asta-killer.com.
StopBadware will lists out its investigation report before a users access a page and also offer the owners of the page suggestions on how to have the page removed from the organizations list.
"These warnings currently link to a general page on StopBadware.org, but as we finish researching sites, we'll replace the general page with one of our individual website reports," the group said.
It added, "Hopefully this next step will bring us that much closer to fulfilling our mission of providing people with reliable, objective information about downloadable applications in order to help them make better choices."
