Internet goliath Yahoo will be extending its recently launched oneSearch capability to nine mobile operators in the Asia Pacific region.
The mobile search capability, which was introduced earlier this year, will now be available through Malaysia's DiGi Telecommunications, Singapore's Starhub, India's Aircel Limited, Bharat Sanchar Nigam and BPL Mobile Communications , Indonesia's PT Hutchison CP Telecom and PT Excelcomindo Pratama and Hong Kong's PCCW Mobile.
oneSearch, which allows consumers to access the web via their mobile phones, is seen by Yahoo as a convenient on-the-go activity for users as well as lucrative avenue for mobile operators to reap in revenue. Revenues are said to be shared between the Sunnyvale, California, based organisation and its operators.
Yahoo has some 16 mobile Internet partnerships in Asia and says it is already in talks with more operators in region as it tries to expand its reach. |
