British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has said that its iPlayer software will also run on Macintosh and Linux powered computers besides Microsoft Windows.
BBC has tied up with Adobe to use its Flash technology for its online audio and video services. From iPlayer, people can download over 400 hours of original BBC programmes of one week.
BBC said the service lets UK television viewers watch any programme that aired on a BBC channel over the last seven days.
When the initiative was originally announced, iPlayer just supported Microsoft Windows based computers but it drew groans from people that used Mac and Linux based computers. |
